Get Started with Common Container Agent

Thank you for your interest in Qualys Cloud Agent.

This guide covers everything you need to deploy the Common Container ARM Agent across supported platforms.

The Common Container agent marks a significant step forward in deployment simplicity. Previously, we only supported AWS Bottlerocket ARM in Common container. Now, we have added the following 4 more platforms under the common container - GCP COS ARM, CoreOS ARM (Family), Linux ARM, Linux Ubuntu ARM. This consolidation reduces operational overhead, streamlines version management, and eliminates the complexity of maintaining platform-specific packages.

The new container agent has extended the support to the GCP COS ARM and CoreOS ARM (Family) platforms. Also, we have added  Linux ARM and Linux Ubuntu ARM in containerized environments.

Benefits of Common Container Agent

• Single common binary: One tar file deploys across every supported platform.
• Extended platform coverage: Previously, we only supported AWSBR ARM in a common container. We are introducing 2 new platforms, GCPCOS ARM and COREOS ARM, as new platforms, and along with that, providing support to LINUX ARM and LINUX UBUNTU ARM through the common container.

Using the Linux Cloud Agent and Common Container Agent on the same asset, at the same time can lead to unpredictable behavior. We recommend not using these Cloud Agents at the same time.
