Upgrading MacOS Apple M Series Cloud Agents
The Qualys Cloud Agent for MacOS Apple Silicon 3.7 and older versions does not support upgrades to 4.4 and later versions. This happens because the architecture changes for MacOS Apple Silicon 3.7 Cloud Agents are not being communicated to the Cloud Agent server, preventing these agents from auto-upgrading to the latest versions.
To fix this issue we released an intermediate Cloud Agent version 3.7.3.6. With this fix, you can upgrade your MacOS Apple Silicon 3.7, and older Cloud Agents to the latest available version.
Perform the following steps to upgrade MacOS Apple Silicon 3.7, and older Cloud Agents to the latest version.
- Upgrade all the Cloud Agents with version 3.7 or older to version 3.7.3.6.
- In the Cloud Agent user interface, navigate to Configuration > Agent Version Control Profile.
- Create a new Agent Version Control rule with the following details:
Platform: macOS Intel
Agent Version: 3.7.3.6 - Contact Qualys Support to enable auto-upgrade for the MacOS Apple M Series 3.7.3.6 Cloud Agent.
- Once the Cloud Agent auto-upgrade is successfully completed, delete the Agent Version Control rule you had created.
- Upgrade your affected Cloud Agents to version 4.40.
- Create a new Agent Version Control rule with the following details.
Platform: macOS M Series
Agent Version: 4.40 - If you want to enable auto-upgrade for your Cloud Agents, edit the Agent Version Control rule with agent version as 6.1.
