Qualys SwCA Scanner for Windows 1.7.76

March 09, 2026

With this release of Software Composition Analysis (SwCA) Scanner, we are introducing the following new features and enhancements.

Extended Language Support for SwCA Runtime Analysis

We have extended the language support for SwCA Runtime Analysis on Windows platforms to the following languages:

  • Ruby: Extended Runtime support to the .gemspec files.
  • Rust: Extended Runtime support to the Cargo Auditable Rust Binary
  • Go: Extended Runtime support to the Go Binary.

The extended language support for the SwCA Runtime Analysis enables deeper analysis of running executables on Windows assets, resulting in enhanced detection and remediation.

Enabling Runtime analysis may increase the SwCA scan time, as the Cloud Agent scans all executable files on assets to extract component metadata.

To learn more about the supported languages for Runtime and Static Analysis, refer to Supported Languages - Windows.

Issues Addressed

No notable and important issues are included in this release.

Known Issues, Limitations, and Workarounds

SwCA scanner may generate duplicate detection from temporary extraction files (sca*.tmp) during Rust and Go binary scanning. This may result in redundant database entries with non-existent file paths in scan reports. We recommend ignoring these temporary files (.tmp files).
