CRS Interoperability Matrix
Last updated on: July 04, 2026
This document outlines the supported operating systems and managed Kubernetes environments for the Qualys Container Runtime Sensor (CRS). The CRS relies on eBPF (extended Berkeley Packet Filter) technology, which requires a minimum Linux kernel version of 4.19 or higher for proper operation.
To ensure full CRS functionality, deploy CRS on environments meeting kernel version ≥ 4.19. CRS has been verified on the listed distributions and managed environments. For other platforms, ensure kernel compliance and contact Qualys support.
For eBPF kernel compatibility details, reach out to Qualys Support.
Supported OS Matrix
CRS supports the following Operating Systems.
| OS Distribution | OS Version | Kernel Version | Architecture | OS EOL | Minimum Supported CRS Version |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CentOS | CentOS Stream 9 or a later version | 5.14.0 |
- x86_64 |
Until RHEL 9 EOL (~2032) | ?? |
| RHEL | 9.2 or later version | 5.14.0 | Refer to Red Hat documentation | ?? | |
| Ubuntu | 22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) | 5.19.0 | April 2032 | ?? | |
| Ubuntu | 18.04.5 LTS (Bionic Beaver) or later version | 5.4.0 | April 2026 | ?? | |
| Amazon Linux 2 | 2023.x | 4.14, 5.10 | June 30, 2026 | 1.4.0 or later | |
| Amazon Linux 2023 | 2023.x | 5.15 | June 30, 2029 | 1.4.0 or later | |
| Amazon Linux 2023 |
2023.x | 6.1 - 6.12+ | June 30, 2029 | 1.5.0 or later |
- Kernel 6.x Support: Operating systems with Linux kernel 6.x require CRS version 1.5.0 or later. Earlier versions (1.4.0 and below) are not compatible with kernel 6.x due to eBPF structure changes.
- Architecture: CRS supports both x86_64 and ARM64 (aarch64) architectures on all listed operating systems.
- Amazon Linux 2023: This OS is fully supported with kernel 6.1 through 6.12+ when using CRS 1.5.0 or later.
Supported Kubernetes Cluster Environments
CRS supports the following K8s Cluster Environments.
| Cluster Environment | Version |
|---|---|
| Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) | 1.27 or later |
| Google Kubernetes Engine | GKE 1.26 or later |
| Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) | 1.26 or later |
| AWS | EKS 1.26 or later |
| Red Hat OpenShift | 4.13 - 4.20 |
| Rancher Kubernetes Engine (RKE2) | 1.28 |
