You can create asset purge rule by selecting the assets based on cloud agent and cloud provider metadata to be purged with the rule. This rule runs daily once you create it.
This will help you to remove unnecessary assets from your inventory.
To create a new rule, go to Rules > Asset Purge Rules > Create Rule.
Provide rule name and rule description for the rule to be created. Click Next.
In the Select Assets step, you can select assets based on cloud agent criteria (1), based on cloud provider metadata criteria (2), and based on time criteria (3).
(1) Click Add Cloud Agent Based Criteria to select assets based on cloud agent metadata.
(2) Click Add Cloud Provider Metadata Based Criteria to select assets based on cloud provider metadata for AWS, Azure, or GCP. You can remove cloud agents associated with assets by selecting Remove Cloud Agent and associated license checkbox.
(3) Click Add Time Based Criteria to select assets based on time-related metadata. You can select assets based on time-related metadata only if you select one (or both) criteria from (1) and (2).
Once you've selected the assets to be purged, click Next.
In the Settings step, set purge limit criteria. If you've selected more assets than this limit, then your assets won't be purged.
Once you've added asset limit, click Next.
Review and confirm your selections. You can edit basic information, select assets, and select software from this step as well if required.
Click Finish to save the purge rule.
You can edit, delete, enable, or disable purge rule from the Quick Actions menu.
