EPP Onboarding for MacOS

EPP Onboarding for MacOS supports the following features:

  • On-access scanning for real-time antimalware protection.
  • Blocks known phishing web pages.
  • Scans web traffic in real-time to prevent malware from being downloaded.

Ensure you meet the following requirements while onboarding MacOS Cloud Agent for EDR 2.7.0 or later:

MacOS System Architecture Memory Disk Space
Desktop Intel and ARM (M1 & M2) 8 GB 1 GB at installation

Installation Prerequisites

  • Root Access- MacOS agent requires sudo or root access. If you are using a non-root account, the non-root user must be assigned sudo privileges.
  • Qualys Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) application and Malware Protection is enabled from the Configurtion Profile of the Cloud Agent application. The following screenshot displays EDR and Malware Protection enabled:

    Before enabling Qualys EPP on the Cloud Agent that has been uninstalled or reinstalled multiple times on same machine, run the command:-
