Configure Distribution List for Alert Notifications

If you need to send alert notifications to multiple users, you can create a Distribution List (DL) containing the required email addresses. The DL can include both internal and external email addresses, allowing alert notifications to be delivered to users within and outside your organization. This DL can be used to configure alert notifications for FIM incidents and FIM reports.

You must ensure that the sending message option for the DL is configured to allow messages from inside and outside your organization in your Microsoft Exchange Admin Center (EAC)

This procedure can only be performed by your IT personnel with administrative access to Microsoft Exchange Admin Center (EAC).

To configure the DL to receive alert notifications from internal and external senders, follow these steps:

  1. Login to Exchange Admin Center.
  2. Navigate to the Recipients > Groups > Distribution List.
  3. Select the distribution list you want to configure.
  4. Click Settings > Edit delivery management

  5. On the Delivery management window, select Allow messages from people inside and outside my organization under Sender options.

  6. Click Save changes.
