Qualys Patch Management Release 3.5 - New Features and Updates
April 21, 2025
New Pre-Action to Update Package Cache in Linux Deployment Job
With this release, a new pre-action is added to the Linux deployment job, which updates the package repository before the patch job starts. This helps prevent patch deployment failure that occurs due to the package cache not being updated. In this case, a cache update had to be performed manually to deploy the patch on the Linux assets.
In the Linux Deployment job, a new pre-action is added that includes a new toggle Linux Package Cache Update. The script in this pre-action updates the package repository to facilitate Linux assets patching.
Reattempt Failed Windows Patches
Before this release, you had to re-run the job or create a new job to attempt the installation of the failed Windows patches.
With this release, you can reattempt installing the failed patches in an existing Windows patch job. A new toggle Reattempt failed patches is added to the Windows Deployment Job in the Additional Job Settings. You can configure the number of reattempts and the time interval between consecutive attempts to install the failed jobs.
The default number to reattempt the failed patches is 1, and the default time interval is 5 seconds.
The Cloud Agent must have the WinAgent 6.2 version to reattempt the installation of the failed patches.
