QFlex Subscription Model with Qualys Units (QLU) |
Introduction to QFlex Subscription Model (Qualys Units- QLU)
Qualys introduces QFlex, a new flexible subscription model based on Qualys Units (QLUs), to simplify subscription management and enable flexible usage across supported products. Instead of purchasing separate licenses for each product, you can now buy a shared pool of QLUs and allocate them dynamically across supported Qualys products.
Key Benefits
- Unified Subscription Management: Manage multiple Qualys applications using a shared pool of Qualys Units (QLUs).
- Operational Flexibility: Allocate and reallocate QLUs across QFlex‑eligible products without new contracts or procurement cycles.
- Improved Visibility and Control: Monitor real‑time and historical QLU usage with centralized reporting and analytics.
- Cost Optimization: Scale efficiently with volume‑based QLU pricing and maximize utilization across products.
This feature is not enabled in your subscription and is available on request. To enable the feature and enhance your subscription management experience, contact your Technical Account Manager or Qualys Support.
A new Subscription page is now available for all QLU‑based subscriptions in the Qualys platform. It is not applicable to customers using traditional product‑specific licensing models. Access this page from Administration > Subscription. Only primary contact (POC) users can view it and control the QLU subscriptions, with support for the following features:
Subscription and Usage Visibility
The Subscription page provides a centralized view of all subscribed Qualys products along with their corresponding QLU allocations. You can track QLUs in real time, including units purchased, currently allocated, and remaining available capacity. The visual indicators and automated alerts help monitor usage thresholds, enabling proactive management and preventing unexpected overusage.

QLU Management
The platform enables you to allocate, adjust, and reassign QLUs across Qualys products based on changing business priorities. QLU allocations can be rebalanced once every 90 days, allowing flexibility as security requirements evolve. Role‑based access control (RBAC) ensures that only authorized users can manage and modify QLU assignments.

Consumption Analytics & Reporting
The platform offers real‑time and historical QLU usage analytics for up to 12 months, providing insight into consumption trends. You can easily identify over‑utilized and under‑utilized products to optimize subscription usage. Detailed usage, subscription, and audit reports can be exported to support internal reporting, planning, and compliance needs.

Enhanced Administration Online Help |
The Administration Online Help now displays a centralized view of default roles and their associated permissions for each application. These roles and permissions are automatically created when you subscribe to an application.
You can customize these roles and permissions as needed. To view the permissions for a specific application, go to the relevant application page in the Online Help to view its details.
For more information, see Administration Online Help.
