What's New?

Support to View Audit Logs for CAPS

With this release, NPS backend services have added support for audit logging Cloud Agent Passive Sensor (CAPS) operations. This enables the user to see the detailed list of changes made to CAPS configuration and track the user activities. You can utilize this feature in the upcoming release of Cloud Agent.

Benefits
  • Shows detailed audit log with the exact fields added, removed or changed in the CAPS configuration.
  • Helps keep track of user activities done over a period of time. For example, the Manager user can track which unit managers made the changes and when.
Key Points

You can find the following activities in the Audit log.

  • Added new configuration
  • Updated existing configuration
  • Removed existing configuration
  • Enabled or disabled additional configuration or controls

You can view the Audit Logs in the Activity Logs tab of the Administration module.

Support for Process Integrity Monitoring of VMDR OT Assets

With this release, the NPS backend services have extended support for handling Process Integrity Monitoring (PIM) Events reported by the NPS appliance and passing them to the VMDR-OT module along with the asset context. The NPS sensors deployed in OT networks continuously monitor the OT systems for any process events from the regular operations and report these as PIM events. VMDR-OT module analyses these events and as per the business context, categorizes them as threats or expected occurrences. You can utilize this feature in the upcoming release of VMDR OT and NPS appliances.

Support to View External IP Addresses Communicated by VMDR OT Assets

With this release, the NPS backend services now manage the external IP addresses that inventoried assets communicate with. You can view the details of the external IPs in the Network tab of the VMDR-OT module once this feature becomes available in the upcoming release of VMDR-OT module. Currently, the VMDR-OT module does not display external IP addresses—those that exist outside the range configured for internal assets. Instead, all such IP addresses are marked as only External.

Support to View MAC Address of Assets for VMDR OT

With this release, the NPS backend services now support the extraction of MAC addresses for assets in industrial OCA files. Previously, extraction of the asset's name and IP address were supported. In the upcoming release of VMDR OT, you can view the MAC address if it is present in the industrial OCA file.
