Network Passive Sensor Release 2.0

October 06, 2025

Ability to Purge for IPv6 Assets

We have enhanced the passive sensor by introducing the ability to purge inventoried IPv6 assets, regardless of the subnet size defined within the internal inventory range. This improvement provides control over asset management in large-scale IPv6 environments.

Support for Link-Local Addresses

Network Passive Sensor now supports the discovery of assets with link-local addresses. This enhancement provides visibility into assets that communicate using link-local addresses within your network.

A link-local address is an automatically assigned network address that allows devices to communicate with each other within the same local segment, such as a LAN. These addresses are primarily used for basic communication and connectivity between devices without requiring manual configuration.

You can enable your sensor to detect assets with link-local addresses by switching on the Report Link-Local Addresses toggle under Sensor Details > General Settings page.

Issue Addressed

The following reported and notable issue is fixed in this release:

Category/Component Description
Asset Merging We fixed an issue where identical assets discovered from different sources were not being merged, resulting in duplicate entries. These assets are now correctly merged and displayed as a single asset in the CSAM > Assets tab.
