Qualys Gatway Service (QGS) 3.16 introduces concurrent connection visibility, one-click appliance detail export, simplified SSH access, TLS 1.3 support, and remote diagnostic log collection. This release also updates the CAMS/QGS appliance images and containers.
View Concurrent Connections for Proxy and Cache Modes
The QGS Web UI now displays concurrent connection metrics for both the Proxy and Cache services on each appliance. Metrics are refreshed every 10 minutes, giving administrators a near-real-time view of connection load.
Available Metrics
- Active Concurrent Connections: Number of active Proxy or Cache connections at the last polling interval.
- Peak Connections: Highest concurrent connection count recorded during the polling window.
- Maximum Capacity: The configured upper limit for concurrent connections on the appliance.
Historical Trend Views
Two side-by-side graphs display Proxy and Cache connection trends independently, making it easy to compare the load across both services. The trend graphs support the following views: 12-hour, 24-hour, and 7-day.
Download Appliance Details
You can now export comprehensive details for all your QGS appliances with a single click. The downloaded file provides a consolidated view of every appliance's configuration, status, and traffic statistics, useful for auditing, reporting, and capacity planning.
To export appliance details, click the Download icon on the Home page. This makes it easier to save and analyze appliance information offline.
The export includes the following information for each appliance:
Identity Status
- Friendly Name, UUID, IP Address
- Status, OS Version
- Manifest Versions, Certificate Type
- Created Date, Last Updated Date, Last Sync Time
Connections
- Connectivity status, Proxy Mode
- Tunnel Enabled, Tunnel Port
Caching Patch
- Cache Mode, Caching Enabled, Caching Port
- Patch Enabled
Storage
- Primary Disk Usage
- Secondary Disk details (if applicable)
Traffic Bandwidth
- Data Sent, Data Downloaded, and Bandwidth Savings, for the last 1 day and last 30 days
SSH Accessibility Improvements
SSH access to QGS appliances has been simplified to reduce friction for both customers and Qualys Support.
Offline appliance access: SSH access is now available even when an appliance is offline, enabling diagnostic access in scenarios where normal connectivity is unavailable.
When you enable SSH, the screen displays the Enter Passphrase field.
TLS 1.3 Support for QGS Appliance
The QGS appliance now supports TLS 1.3, enhancing communication security and performance. Users can securely register the appliance using the TLS 1.3 protocol, ensuring compliance with modern security standards.
Collect Diagnostic Logs Remotely
QGS now supports on-demand collection of diagnostic logs from appliances without requiring direct access to them. Qualys Support and Engineering can initiate a collection remotely, and logs are securely transferred to cloud storage and made available for download and review.
Updated CAMS/QGS Images and Containers
With QGS 3.16, cams-mgr and cams-metrics images and containers are a part of this release.

The updated CAMS appliance image is available for download from the QGS user interface for supported hypervisors, including VMWare, Microsoft, Nutanix, and OpenStack environments.
