Release 3.8
September 18, 2024
What’s New?
QGS 3.8 brings updates to the TextUI, Appliance Details and the Appliance and Container image versions.
Introduced Support to Download Report of Connected IPs
With QGS 3.8, we have introduced a new download functionality on the Connected IPs tab. You can download a CSV file of your connected IPs. This download feature streamlines access to critical information, eliminating the need to navigate through multiple pages.
This enhancement offers efficient data retrieval, allowing you to access important information quickly. You can receive a comprehensive CSV report containing all the relevant asset details in one place.
Additionally, the feature supports customizable data extraction through QQL search.
The downloaded CSV file includes:
- UTC timestamp of when the sheet is downloaded.
- Applied QQL search query is added in the sheet.
- Detailed agent information such as Agent IP, Hostname , Operating system, Last Activity via Proxy Port, Last Activity via Proxy Port, QGS Appliance, Agent UUID
The download limit is set to 10,000 records. For larger datasets, use the QQL search to refine results.
This new capability empowers users with quicker access to essential asset data, supporting more efficient analysis and decision-making.
Introduced Support for IPv6 Network Configuration
With QGS 3.8, we have introduced IPv6 support across our application, enhancing network flexibility and future-proofing your infrastructure. This update introduces IPv6 configuration options in multiple areas of the Text UI.
The new IPv6 support includes configuration options for IP addressing, DNS settings, and proxy configuration. Users can now easily manage both IPv4 and IPv6 environments from a single interface. We have also added IPv6 compatibility to our connectivity testing tool, enabling separate tests for IPv4 and IPv6 to ensure smooth operations across both protocols.
We have introduced IPv6 support to the following screens in the QGS TextUI.
Network Interface Settings
A new tab for both IPv4 and IPv6 configuration under System Settings > Network Settings > Network Interface Setting (eth0).
It supports either DHCP or static configurations for each protocol.
DNS Configuration
Added IPv6 DNS configuration options under System Settings > Network Settings > DNS settings > DNS Configuration.
You can manually configure or deconfigure DNS for both IPv4 and IPv6.
Proxy Configuration
Introduced separate proxy configuration options for IPv4 and IPv6 under System Settings > Network Settings > Proxy > Proxy Configuration.
You can only either choose IPv4 or IPv6 for your proxy configuration.
Connectivity Testing
Enhanced the Diagnostics > Connectivity Test tool to support separate IPv4 and IPv6 testing, allowing for more precise network troubleshooting.
We have also introduced changes to the QGSUI.
Appliance Details
Expanded the appliance information display to include IPv6 IP and DNS details. Users can access this by clicking the appliance name to identify the IP and DNS details associated with it.
These enhancements provide greater control over network configurations and improved visibility into IPv6 operations, supporting organizations in their transition to the latest internet protocols.
