Configuration of Qualys Virtual Scanner Appliance in OCI

It would be best if you customized the configuration of the Virtual Scanner appliances for successful activation at the Qualys Platform and the OCI Platform.

Configuration for Qualys Platform

To launch an instance, a personalization code is required. You must add a new virtual scanner appliance to get your personalization code.

Following are the steps to add a virtual scanner appliances:

1. Go to Scans > Appliances and select New > Virtual Scanner Appliance.

   

2. Select I have my image and click Continue. 

   

3. Give a name to the created scanner. If you are a sub-user, you need to pick an asset group assigned to your business unit by a Manager user.

    If asset groups are not showing for your profile, you must ask a Manager user to assign an asset group (other than the All group) to your business unit.

4. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your virtual scanner and get your personalization code.

   

Configuration for OCI Platform

Following are the steps to configure Virtual Scanner at OCI platform:

• Find the scanner image at the OCI marketplace.
• If the marketplace is inaccessible, then a signed and valid SAS URL is shared for a short duration.
