Qualys Virtual Scanner Appliance in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Welcome to Qualys Cloud Platform, which brings you solutions for securing your Cloud IT Infrastructure and your traditional IT infrastructure.

This document briefly describes how to quickly deploy the Qualys Virtual Scanner Appliance (QVSA) in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) from the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. This scanner, once deployed, functions as a standard Virtual Scanner and can scan based on an IP address or CIDR block.

Pre-requisites

The following are the prerequisites for getting started with Virtual Scanner in Oracle Cloud infrastructure:

The turned-on Virtual Scanner option for your account. Contact Qualys Support or your Technical Account Manager if you want us to turn on this option.
Active Qualys subscription for the user.
‎The 14-digit scanner personalization code (Obtained from your Qualys account).
‎Reachable Qualys Virtual Scanner Appliance VM to connect with Qualys Cloud Platform over HTTPS port 443.

The following features are not supported and are disabled in all cloud (private and public) platforms:

A WAN/Split network SETTINGS - The WAN Interface option for split network settings is unavailable from the Scanner UI/console. Only LAN/single network settings from Cloud UI, used for both scanning and connecting to Qualys servers, are supported
NATIVE VLAN - VLAN on LAN option for configuring Native VLAN is not available from the scanner UI/console
STATIC VLAN (IPV4 AND IPV6) - VLANs option for configuring static VLANs is not available from Qualys UI
STATIC ROUTES (IPV4 AND IPV6) - The option to configure Static Routes is not available from Qualys UI
IPV6 ON LAN - Option to configure IPv6 on LAN is not available from Qualys UI
IPV6 ON LAN - Option to configure IPv6 on LAN is not available from Qualys UI

Get Started

To get started with Qualys Virtual Scanner in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, the user must have the following permissions :

You must be a Manager or sub-user with permission to access the Manage virtual scanner appliances. This permission may be granted to Unit Managers.
Your subscription may be configured to allow this permission to be granted to scanners.
