Troubleshooting

You can connect to the instance's serial console using Cloud Shell, allowing real-time retrieval of system logs.

Instance Serial Console

You can access the latest serial console output at any point during the instance life cycle. During a reboot, you can view all boot messages from the moment the instance starts.

To set up a Serial Console connection on the OCI platform, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the OCI platform and go to the Scanner Instance page.
  2. To create a Local Console Connection, from Resources, select Console Connection.
  3. Click Create Local Connection.

  4. Choose an appropriate option to generate an SSH key pair or provide a local system's SSH public key.
    The associated private key is required to connect to the serial console or VNC console.

  5. Once the SSH key pair is generated or the public key is provided, click Create Console Connection.

  6. Once the local connection is established, click   (more options) icon for the local connection.

  7. Choose the appropriate method to establish a serial console connection.
