When you change a user's assigned business unit or change the user's role, you’ll be presented with 2 options that determine how to handle the user’s personal configurations and how to handle the user’s asset groups. You can choose to transfer ownership of the personal configurations and asset groups to the user’s current manager. If you don’t transfer ownership, then the user’s personal configurations and asset groups will be deleted and will not be recoverable.
Please note that the user being moved or assigned a new role will not have the option to keep their personal configurations or asset groups, and assets will not be moved from one business unit to another.

Personal configurations include user-created option profiles, report templates, scheduled scans, search lists and compliance policies.
The user’s personal configurations will be transferred to the user's current manager. This could be the Unit Manager primary contact for the user’s business unit or the Manager primary contact for the subscription.
- If the user is in a business unit, then the user’s personal configurations will be transferred to the Unit Manager designated as the primary contact for their current business unit. For example, if the user is moving from Business Unit A to Business Unit B, then the personal configurations are transferred to the Unit Manager for Business Unit A (the user’s old business unit).
- If the user is not in a business unit, then the user’s personal configurations will be transferred to the Manager designated as the primary contact for the subscription.
- If the user is the only remaining user in the business unit, then the user’s personal configurations will be transferred to the Manager designated as the primary contact for the subscription.
The user’s personal configurations will be deleted and will not be recoverable.
These personal configurations will not be transferred or deleted regardless of your selection. Scheduled reports and distribution groups will continue to be owned by the user that created them, and they will become Inactive.
Personal asset groups include the asset groups created by the user that’s being moved or changed. Asset groups assigned to the user by their Manager or Unit Manager will not be affected.
The user’s personal asset groups (asset groups the user created) will be transferred to their current manager. This could be the Unit Manager primary contact for the user’s business unit or the Manager primary contact for the subscription.
