Add assets to business units

When setting up business units be sure to assign at least one asset group with host assets. If you only assign empty asset groups then the business unit won’t have assets assigned and users in the business unit not be able to scan or report on any assets.

Unit Managers experience the following limitations when only empty asset groups are assigned to the business unit:

• No host assets are available for scanning or reporting.
• Empty asset groups assigned to the business unit cannot be edited.
• Ownership of empty asset groups cannot be assigned.
• Creation of new asset groups is not permitted.
• New host assets cannot be added, even when the Add assets permission is enabled.
