Delete Virtual Scanner

You can delete a virtual scanner appliances even when scans are in Running or Paused states. 

You will see a warning during the delete confirmation, letting you know that any associated scans will be marked as errors if the scanner is decommissioned.

What are the steps?

1. Go to Scans > Appliances > Virtual Scanners tab.
2. Select the scanner you want to delete and click Delete Virtual Scanner.
   The Delete Virtual Scanner dialog displays.
   Note: The Delete button becomes active only after all running or paused scans are cancelled.
   
3. Select Cancel Scan Report.
   The Report: Cancel Running or Paused Scans screen appears, listing all active scans linked to the selected scanner.
4. Review the list of scans and select Cancel Scans to stop them. Once all scans are cancelled, the Delete button is enabled on the Delete Virtual Scanner dialog.
5. Select Delete to confirm deletion of the virtual scanner.
   

Additional Details

• The Delete Virtual Scanner dialog automatically refreshes every minute until all scans are fully cancelled.
• If any exceptions occur during scan cancellation, the affected scan references are displayed in the report view.
• Any scans still in progress when the scanner is deleted are marked as Error in the system:
