How to Integrate Qualys Jira Connector

The Qualys Jira Connector automates vulnerability remediation workflows. You gain real-time visibility into vulnerabilities and improve collaboration between the IT and Security teams. This integration helps you streamline operations and reduce remediation time.
You integrate Qualys with Jira to connect vulnerability data with issue tracking. Before you begin, ensure that you meet all prerequisites and complete the required configurations for a seamless setup.

Prerequisites

Before you integrate Qualys with Jira, verify that all required software and Qualys requirements are in place.

• Software Requirements: To set up the connector, ensure that Docker Composer is installed.
• Qualys Requirements: To integrate with Qualys, ensure that you have a valid Qualys subscription with the API access enabled for the Host Detection and Knowledgebase APIs.

Configure Jira

To configure Jira for the connector:

1. Ensure the following:
   • Jira User and Access Requirements
     • You have active Jira users with administrator privileges.
     • Create JIRA API tokens by using the same administrator account.
   • Project and Screen Requirements
     • The JIRA project where tickets are created is Company Managed.
     • Select the default screen layout for projects where tickets are created.
     • To prevent ticket creation failures, you avoid setting mandatory fields in Jira projects.
   • Jira Deployment Support
     • The connector supports Jira On-Cloud and Jira On-Premise.
     • The listed requirements apply to Jira On-Cloud deployments.
   • Jira On-Premise Requirements
     • For Jira On-Premise, additional prerequisites apply.
     • Ensure that your Jira On-Premise version is v8.22.0#822000-sha1:cef2cc4 or later.
2. Configure the Jira Connector.

   Issues created for the projects that you include in this integration. The connector automatically creates Jira issues based on the configured projects once the integration is active.
