VMDR Release 2.12
July 23, 2026
Manage Asset Tags from the Assets List
In this release, we have introduced static asset tagging on the Asset listing page on the Vulnerabilities tab. You can add or remove static tags directly from the Asset page for multiple assets to simplify grouping, filtering, and reporting.
With this enhancement, you can perform the following actions:
Add Tags to Assets
You can add existing tags to individual assets to better organize and classify. To add tags to an asset: VMDR > Vulnerabilities > Asset > click a drop-down list of a selected asset > Quick Actions > Add Tags > Select Tag > Add Tags.
Remove Tags from Assets
You can remove tags that are no longer relevant for an asset’s classification. This supports maintaining accurate and meaningful tagging. To remove tags from an asset: VMDR > Vulnerabilities > Asset > click a drop-down list of a selected asset > Quick Actions > Remove Tags > Select Tag > Remove Tags.
Add or Remove Tags for Assets in Bulk
You can also add or remove tags for multiple assets at once to efficiently apply or remove tags across multiple assets in a single operation. This helps save time and ensure consistent asset classification. To add or remove multiple tags for assets in bulk: VMDR > Vulnerabilities > Asset > select all assets > Actions > Add Tags or Remove Tags.
For more information about this static tagging from the Asset listing page, refer to Manage Tags.
Issues Addressed
The following reported and notable customer issues are fixed in this release:
| Category/Component | Issue |
| TruRisk™ Report |
We fixed an issue where the posture data count in the VMDR > TruRisk™ report did not match the count displayed on the Policy Audit (PA) > Posture tab for assets associated with specific tags. You can now view consistent and accurate posture misconfiguration counts in the TruRisk™ report and the Posture tab for tagged assets, including APP: APP20940. |
| Responses Tab |
We fixed an issue where editing rules under VMDR > Response tab > Rule Manager caused the application to crash. You can now edit rules without errors and experience consistent performance across all browsers and sessions. |
| Responses Tab |
We fixed an issue where updating an action under VMDR > Response tab module got stuck in a loading state when switching from Email to Post to Teams. You can now update actions with Post to Teams, and the changes are saved without delays or errors. |
