We have completely redesigned the App Picker to deliver a more streamlined and enhanced user experience. These enhancements are built on structured feedback from our Product Advisory Board, direct customer input, and insights gathered from industry conferences.

You can now work faster and more efficiently with personalized access patterns, clearer navigation, and intelligent workflows that adapt to your platform usage.

This enhancement applies to all Applications, ensuring consistent navigation whether you are working in VMDR, TC, CSAM, or ETM.

Enhanced User Experience

The enhanced App Picker has the following key enhancements:

Refreshed Visual Design

The App Picker has been redesigned to align with UI 4.0 standards, delivering a more cohesive and intuitive user experience. This update brings both visual consistency and enhanced functionality to match our modern interface design.

Key Improvements:

  • Consistent User Experience: Complete visual redesign that seamlessly integrates with the UI 4.0 aesthetic launched in October 2024.
  • Responsive Design: Optimized layout that adapts fluidly between desktop and tablet devices.
  • Enhanced Navigation: Smooth transitions between dashboards, reports, and widgets for improved workflow efficiency.
  • Simplified Access Control: Many organizations manage multiple teams, regions, or business units within the same subscription. You can now control which applications are visible to individual sub-users, preventing confusion, reducing interface clutter, and enforcing least privilege access across roles.

 This enhanced App Picker is exclusively available to subscribers who have upgraded to UI 4.0.

Applications Categorized into Logical Product Families

Applications are now categorized and organized into logical product families, enabling faster and more intuitive navigation. Related Applications are grouped together under functional categories, with each category showcasing relevant Applications that launch directly into their home page with a single click.

Frequently Visited Applications

A horizontal bar at the top of your navigation showcases your four most frequently accessed Applications. You can now quickly switch between Applications. The App Picker remembers your usage patterns across sessions, reducing the need for repetitive navigation.

One-Click Access to All Applications

Say goodbye to scrolling or searching for the right Application. The enhanced App Picker displays all your licensed Qualys Applications with large, clearly labeled icons for instant recognition and access.

Status badges on each Application title eliminate guesswork about whether you are actively using an Application, running a trial, or need to renew a license. These visual cues make it easy to determine your next action, whether to renew, purchase, or trial new capabilities.

Complete License Management at Your Fingertips

Manage your active subscriptions, ongoing trials, and explore new features directly within the Applications tab. You no longer need to navigate away to check Application status; everything is now accessible from a centralized view of your subscription.

  • Your Subscriptions: All currently active and trial-started Applications.

Smart Status Indicators: Applications expiring within 15 days show red status indicators, while those with longer timeframes display orange indicators for proactive license management.

Trial Types: Provisioned trials are automatically launched to the Application's home page, while non-provisioned trials redirect to a request form for manual processing.

Discover and Enable Modules with Ease

You can now easily view and activate Modules that enhance the core capabilities of your licensed Applications. You can see the available Modules for each Application, check their current activation status, and enable trials or request activation directly from the App Picker.

Rollout Schedule

The enhanced App Picker begins rolling out with Enterprise TruRisk™ Platform 10.35.2. You will be notified via email and in-platform alerts when the enhanced App Picker is available for your subscription.

 After the update, you will see a brief walkthrough of the enhanced App Picker during your first login.  

Issues Addressed

The following reported and notable customer issues are fixed in this release:

VM Vulnerability Management When the user viewed the vulnerability details for a specific QID, it was observed that the Published Date appeared later than the Modified Date, which was incorrect. Relevant code changes have been made to fix the issue. Now, for all QIDs where the Modified Date was earlier than the Published Date, the Modified Date has been updated to match the Published Date.
VM - Option Profile Vulnerability Management When the user initiated a Vulnerability Management (VM) scan, extra ports were scanned as intended. However, these extra ports were also being scanned during Map scans, leading to unexpected results. Relevant code changes have been made to fix the issue. This behavior has been corrected so that extra ports are scanned only during VM scans and not during Map scans.
