To create a new DNS override record, click New DNS Override Record, and follow the steps:
1) Add basic details. See DNS Override Record - Basic Information.
2) Add hostname or FQDN and then add device IP address- DNS Override Record - DNS Mapping.
3) Add comments to be associated with the DNS override record. See DNS Override Record - Comments.
4) Review the settings defined and create the DNS Override Record. See DNS Override Record - Review and Confirm.
Once the DNS override record is created, you can associate the DNS override record with web applications to scan web applications with multiple instances deployed in different environments. See Web Application - Additional Configurations.
User roles and permissions determine whether users have WAS Configuration Permissions; there are individual permissions for creating, editing, and deleting DNS override records and other WAS configurations. For details, check Configuration permissions.
