Before scanning, you need to activate the EC2 assets you want to scan and apply tags to them.
This option gives you an automated way to activate EC2 assets for scanning. Here you can select activation for one or more modules in your subscription (i.e. VM, PC, SCA) and we'll automatically activate assets when discovered. Activated assets will be added to your host assets list in the appropriate app (i.e. VM, PC, SCA) and in your assets inventory (AV).
Before scanning you'll need to assign tags to the EC2 assets you want to scan. When launching a scan you'll select asset tags for the scan target. By assigning tags now you won't need to take this extra step later. Tip - You can tag your EC2 assets even if you do not activate them for scanning.
