Enter the basic information to define the tag

Basic information

Give your tag a name (up to 1024 characters).

Tag Properties

Color coding is a great way to organize tags. You might assign different colors to different units.

When creating a sub-tag you'll want to choose a parent tag from tags already in your account.

 

Tag Rule

Rule Engine

No Dynamic Rule. Your tag will be a static tag.

Asset Name Contains. Applies the tag when any part of the user-definable asset name contains the substring or substrings you enter. Add multiple substrings separated by the "|" (vertical bar) with no spaces before or after.

Groovy Scriptlet. Full programmatic access to attributes via the Groovy language.

IP Address In Network Range(s). Applies the tag to assets with an IP in the range you enter (e.g. 172.31.254.0-172.31.254.25 or 172.31.254.0/25).

Open Ports. Applies the tag to assets whose port listing matches the ports you enter (e.g. 80,123).

Operating System Regular Expression. Applies the tag to assets with an OS that matches the regular expression(s) you enter (e.g. /.*linux.*/i or Windows|Unix|Linux).

Software installed. Applies the tag when anything in the asset's installed software listing matches the substring you enter.

Vuln (QID) Exists. Applies the tag to assets with the vulnerability (QID).

Cloud Asset Search. Applies the tag to Amazon EC2, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform instances matching the query you provide.

Asset Inventory. Applies the tag to assets from Global IT Asset Inventory.

Test Rule Applicability on Selected Assets.

(optional) Select assets in your account to test the rule. A green check mark tells you the asset matches the rule. A red X tells you the asset does not match the rule.
