Install lightweight agents on your hosts to get continuous security updates through the cloud. It only takes a couple of minutes!

Cloud Agent Requirements

• Your hosts must be able to reach the Qualys Enterprise TruRisk™ Platform (or the Qualys Private Enterprise TruRisk™ Platform) over HTTPS port 443. Go to Help > About for details.
• To install Windows Agent, you must have local administrator privileges on your hosts. Requirements | Proxy configuration
• To install Linux Agent, BSD Agent, Unix Agent, MacOS Agent you must have elevated privileges on your hosts. Requirements | Proxy configuration
• Have AWS? No problem you can install the Cloud Agent in AWS. Read these instructions at our Community.

Steps to Install Agents

1. Create an activation key. This provides a way to group agents together and bind them to your account. Go to Activation Keys and click the New Key button, then Generate Key. Learn more
2. Our wizard will help you review requirements and download the agent installer to your local system.

   No problem, just exit the wizard. When you're ready return to your activation keys list, select the key you want to use, then Install Agent from the Quick Actions menu.

3. Run the installer on each host from an elevated command prompt, or use a systems management tool or Windows group policy.
   
   Your agents should start connecting to our Enterprise TruRisk™ Platform. We would expect you to see your first asset discovery results in a few minutes. Click here to troubleshoot
4. Activate your Cloud Agents for various capabilities like vulnerability scanning (VM), compliance scanning (PC), etc. Your options will depend on your account settings.

   How do I activate agents?

   • Use the Quick Actions menu to activate a single agent you've already installed.
   • Use the Actions menu to activate one or more agents you've already installed.
   • Or auto-activate agents at install time by choosing this option in your activation key settings.

How do I check activation progress? It's easy! Go to the Agents tab and check agent activation jobs.
