What's New?
Introduced New User Role: Library Script Importer (Read-Only)
We have introduced a new Library Script Importer (Read-Only) user role to streamline administrative tasks and enhance the management of scripts within the system. This role is designed to facilitate easier script management without the ability to create or modify script content.
Key Features of the Library Script Importer (Read-Only) Role:
- Script Importation
Users assigned to this role have the capability to import detection scripts into the system. - Parameter Addition
Beyond importing scripts, these users can also add necessary parameters to them, ensuring that the scripts are tailored and ready for effective use.
Benefits
This new role eases the workload of administrators by delegating specific tasks related to script management, without compromising the integrity of the scripts.
When this user logs into the CAR application, only the scripts that can be imported are listed in the Library. These scripts are specifically for detection.
Enhanced Data Retention for Jobs and Asset Jobs Metadata
With this release, we have made improvements to how long we retain data related to Job and Asset Jobs metadata. According to the CAR Data Retention Policy, jobs and asset jobs are auto-deleted after 90 days. So, users can access these jobs, asset jobs for a period of 90 days before being automatically removed. Earlier, this period was 7 days. This extension provides our users with more flexibility and time to manage their jobs effectively. You can view the output of the latest 5 jobs per script.
Update in Auto Deprecation of Scripts
This release includes an important update that benefits users. Scripts that have not been used by a customer in the last six months will no longer be automatically deprecated. This change enables better control over script management, ensuring that important or occasionally used scripts remain accessible and are not removed without user intervention.

Improvement in Library Tab UI
With this release, we have introduced improvements to the Script Library tab to enhance usability. The user interface has been redesigned for greater ease of use. The user interface provides better navigation and organization. We have categorized library scripts into distinct groups, such as PC Remediation, AD Security Posture, and QID without Patch, to name a few. This new categorization allows for a more streamlined viewing experience, as scripts from the same category are now grouped together, making it simpler to find and access the resources you need.
