Amazon Web Services Onboarding

TotalCloud's onboarding experience for connector deployments are a simple 3-step process for setting up your connectors.

Configure Permissions

We offer three simple and powerful means of configuring the necessary permissions of your cloud provider.

Launch Stack

Launch Stack uses AWS automated tools to deploy a complete set of resources defined in a stack template. This method is beneficial for provisioning and configuring multiple resources or services quickly and consistently. This is a time-efficient method where all the stack parameters are pre-populated for your convenience.

You can deploy this method for the quickest results.

Download CFT

Downloading a CloudFormation Template (CFT) means retrieving a pre-defined template file that describes the AWS resources you want to deploy. You can configure the necessary parameters yourself for deployment. This CFT can be stored locally or used as a reference to launch stacks later.

Manual Deployment

Manual deployment involves the hands-on process of configuring the permissions directly from the cloud console. This is the traditional method and it offers the most configuration options among the three methods.

When you select this method, it opens the Connector documentation for AWS onboarding. Select the necessary topic to learn how to set up your connectors.

Enter the Role ARN

Once the permissions are configured, you can obtain the Role ARN from the AWS Console by navigating to IAM > Roles and clicking the Role created for the connector configuration.

Select the I have configured the required access permissions in AWS for Connector Creation checkbox

Provide this Role ARN to proceed with the connector creation.

Test the Connection

Lastly, test the connection of TotalCloud with your AWS cloud to successful create the connector. If this step returns an error, then the permissions you have configured are invalid and you might need to revisit the Configure Permissions step.

With a valid Role ARN, this step should return a successful test connection.

Click Submit and your connector is ready.

You can view the connector in the Connector app or proceed to the Dashboard to view the widgets and get started with your TotalCloud journey.
