Preferences
Go to TotalCloud > Configure > Preferences to set organization-wide defaults that apply across all your TotalCloud connectors.
These settings apply to the entire organization. Changes made here affect what every user in your account sees by default.
Default Cloud Provider
Choose the cloud provider that's selected by default wherever a page offers a cloud provider filter, such as Inventory, Posture, and Dashboard. Select All to show resources and data from every connected cloud provider by default, or select a specific provider (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) to have that provider selected automatically.
This is the organization-wide default. You can override it for your own login from your personal preferences, without affecting what other users see.
Default Time Period Selector
Choose the time period that's applied by default on pages with a time filter, such as Inventory, Posture, Insights, Investigate, and Dashboard. Available options are Last 24 Hrs, Last 7 Days (recommended), and Last 30 Days.
Users can still change the time period on any individual page. This setting only controls what's selected when a page first loads.
Scope Management
Choose how access is controlled across your organization:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Connector Based Scope (default) | Control access using connector tags only. Visibility is governed solely by the connectors and accounts a user has access to. |
| Connector + Policy Scope | Control access using connector tags together with Policy and Control tags, for more granular access. A user only sees the Policies, Controls, and Evaluation results whose tags intersect with the tags assigned to them. |
For the full scoping model, including the Global Policy Read tag and how tags interact with Policy, Control, and Exception permissions, see Scope-based Access on Policy and Control.
