Get Started with Qualys ETM VR Integration 

The Qualys ETM VR Integration creates Vulnerable Items (VITs) in the ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) module based on vulnerability findings fetched from Qualys ETM. 

Prerequisites 

The following are the prerequisites for ServiceNow and Qualys Cloud Platforms:

Prerequisites for ServiceNow Platform

The following are the prerequisites that must be met at ServiceNow:

  • The Vulnerability Response (VR) module must be installed and configured in the ServiceNow instance. 
  • The VR module must be configured to update the NVD Table.
  • Ensure that Manual Entry as Choices in the Discovery Source (column) of the Configuration Item (cmdb_ci table) is present.
    ‎You need to add the Discovery Source if it is not present. For more details, refer to Add Discovery Source.

For better CI classification, we recommend using the 'Qualys CMDB Bi-directional' App to sync and approve assets from Qualys to ServiceNow. 
This helps the Qualys ETM VR app in optimizing the CI Classification of Assets or CIs synced from Qualys ETM using reference CI from 'Qualys CMDB Bi-directional' App

Add Discovery Source

Perform the following steps to add the Discovery source if not present:

  1. Go to System Definition > Tables.
  2. Search for the Configuration Item table.
  3. In the table, open the Discovery Source column.
  4. Click New under the Choices section.
  5. Add Manual Entry as Label and Manual Entry as Value.
  6. Click Submit.

Prerequisites for Qualys Cloud Platform

The following are the prerequisites that must be met at Qualys:

  • Must have a valid Qualys Subscription with the ETM module enabled.
  • Must have valid Qualys credentials with API Access enabled with permissions to fetch Qualys ETM data.
