Get Started with Slack Alerting

Integrating the Policy Audit with Slack allows for seamless delivery of rule-based alerts directly to your Slack channels. You can set up automated workflows to push alerts based on specific conditions or triggers.

It enables secure and reliable communication between the Policy Audit and Slack. Once set up, alerts are sent in real-time to designated Slack channels.

The following are the benefits of Slack Alerting:

  • Instant Notifications – Alerts are delivered instantly to Slack channels. This allows teams to respond to issues as soon as they occur.
  • Better Collaboration – Teams can discuss and resolve alerts directly within Slack, reducing the need to switch between tools.
  • Reduced Email Dependency – Replaces cluttered email alerts with streamlined Slack messages, providing better visibility and actionability.
  • Customizable Alerts – Teams can filter alerts based on types, severity levels, and channels to focus on critical issues.

Prerequisite

To receive notifications in the Slack channel, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • You must have access to the channel.
  • You must be able to create, edit, and delete the channel.

Quick Start Steps

To send an alert using the Qualys Enterprise TruRisk™ Platform, follow these steps:

  1. Create Slack Channel in the Slack application.
  2. Generate Slack Incoming Webhook.
  3. Create a Rule from the Policy Audit and attach the action you created to it. This rule is triggered when an event matches the specified QQL query defined during its creation.
Upon triggering, it sends an HTTP request to the provided webhook, initiating the workflow.
For more details, see Responses on Slack Channel.

Following these steps, you can successfully send Policy Audit alerts to Slack.
