Scheduling Patch Tuesday Jobs

A few software companies release security and non-security patches every second Tuesday of the month. You can set up a recurring job to ensure these patches are installed automatically on your assets.

Patch Management automatically deploys the patches released on Patch Tuesday based on the schedule you have set when you create a deployment job.

To schedule a job for Patch Tuesday, create a deployment job and set the schedule as Patch Tuesday.

We recommend that you create a query to install the patches released on Patch Tuesdays. For more information, see Using QQL to Automate Patch Selection for Windows and Linux Assets.

Important to Know!

Supported Platforms: The Patch Tuesday schedule is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac deployment jobs.

Job Type: The job type must be Recurring, and the repetition must be set as Monthly.

- Scheduling options: You can set the schedule to run the job up to 27 days before or after Patch Tuesday.

If you want the job to run on the specified day before Patch Tuesday, select Before from the Set list and enter the days in the adjacent field.
