Import qVSA Image in IBM VPC
You can import the Qualys Virtual Scanner Appliance (qVSA) image into your IBM Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) to enable vulnerability scanning within your IBM cloud environment. This process involves uploading the qVSA image disk to IBM Cloud Object Storage (COS) and then creating a custom image in IBM VPC.
Prerequisites
To import qVSA image in IBM VPC, the following prerequsistes must be met:
- Get the Qualys Virtual Scanner Appliance (qVSA) image disk (VHD) file. If you need help obtaining the image, contact Qualys Support.
- Upload the qVSA VHD file to an IBM Cloud Object Storage (COS) bucket.
Ensure the file is successfully uploaded and accessible before starting the import process.
To import the qVSA image, perform the following steps:
- Click
in IBM Cloud. - Navigate to Infrastructure, select Compute, and then choose Images.
The Images for VPC page is displayed.
- On the top-right of the table, click Create +. You are redirected to the Custom Image for VPC page.
- Enter the Location, Name, and provide the IBM Cloud API Key for your IBM Cloud account.
- Choose the Cloud Object Storage instance, location, and the bucket containing the uploaded qVSA qcow2. The objects in the selected bucket are displayed.
- Select the qVSA image qcow2.
- Under Operating system, select CentOS Then under Version select centos-7-amd64.
- Leave the rest of the configurations to default and click Import Image to start the import process.
