 Newly published images do not always require replacing the existing scanner from the previous version. To know details on when scanner replacement is needed, refer to the Know when scanner replacement is needed section.

What's New?

qPSA 4.1.8-1 Oracle Linux 8-Based Image with Enhanced Security

 This image is only supported on appliances QGSA-6120-A1 and higher. Physical Scanner Appliances QGSA-5120-A1 and lower are not supported.

New Features

With this release, we have introduced the following new features for the Qualys physical scanners:

• The qVSA 4.1 image is based on Oracle Linux 8 (x86_64) with the UEK 5.15 kernel and FIPS 140-2 support.

• LUKS2 encryption of the scanner's hard disk partitions

• Syslog forwarding is configured to forward all scanner logs, including scanning-related logs, AUTOUPDATE logs, and all messages from /var/log/messages.

• Support for TLSv1.3

Limitation

We currently do not support SCAP scanning.
