New MCP Server Onboarding 

You can onboard a new MCP server launch scans to detect vulnerabilities. 

To create a MCP server: 

  1. Navigate to Inventory MCR Servers tab and click New MCP Server
  2. Enter the values in the Basic Details page. 
  3. Configure Scan Settings for the MCP server scan.
  4. Enter comments to be associated with the model. 
  5. Confirm the settings and click Create MCP Server.

Once the MCP server is created, it is available in the MCP Servers list. You can view, edit, delete the model, or launch a scan.  

Steps to Onboard a New MCP Server

Basic Details

Provide the MCP server name and other identification details. 

Enter the following information:

Inference Endpoint URL - The base URL where your MCP server is hosted and accessible. 

EndPoints - Each endpoint maps to a tool, resource, or prompt. You can add multiple endpoints. The format is 

Authentication Type - Select one of the following authentication method:

  • API Key 
  • Basic Auth
  • Bearer Token 
  • None

Scan Settings 

In the Scan Settings, select an option profile and scanner appliance to be used for the MCP server scan. 

Select one of the following options:

  • Select External for perimeter scanning. For details, External Scanner IPs.
  • Select Internal and select the scanner appliance from the list. For details, see Internal Scanner Appliance.

     Ensure that you have a 64-bit scanner appliance. TotalAI supports model scans using 64-bit scanners. 

  • Select Tags and select a tag. The scanner appliance associated with the selected tag is selected for MCP server scan. For details, see All Scanners in TagSet.  

Comments 

Enter comments to be associated with the MCP server that is created. 

Confirmation

Review the settings defined for the MCP server and then click Create MCP Server.
