Agent Provision Rule Status

When you create an agent host with the same attributes as that of an existing asset, it creates a duplicate asset record. You can avoid this by using the Agent Provisiong Rule (aka. Asset Identification Service (AIS)). You can specify the parameters and conditions to find the assets with matching agent identification attributes. Refer to the Agent Provisioning Rule to learn more.

This feature allows the automatic merging of host assets when a newly provisioned Agent matches parameters defined in the agent provisioning rule.

Perform the following steps to check the status of the agent provisioning rule.

1. Open the Global Asset View (GAV) application from the module picker.

2. In the GAV user interface, navigate to Inventory > Assets.

3. Select the asset for which you want to check the Agent Provisioning Rule status.

4. In the Quick Actions menu, click View Details.

5. In the Asset Details menu on the left, navigate to Sources > Summary. The associated Cloud Agent details are displayed under the Sensors section.

6. Click Identification Log for your Cloud Agent. The following details are displayed in the Asset Identification Log window.

    - Rule Name: Name of the agent provisioning rule.

    - Identification Attributes (Specified while creating the rule): Identification parameters defined in the agent provisioning rule.

    - Result: Displays the number of matches found if any. If no matches are found, the No Match Found status is displayed.

    - Timestamp: Timestamp of asset identification logs.

Refer to the following table for provisioning rule status details.
