Your hosts must be able to reach the Qualys Cloud Platform (or the Qualys Private Cloud Platform) over HTTPS port 443. Go to Help > About for details. |

To install Windows Agent you must have local administrator privileges on your hosts. Requirements | Proxy configuration |

To install Linux Agent, BSD Agent, Unix Agent, MacOS Agent you must have elevated privileges on your hosts. |

Steps to Install Agents |
|
1) Create an activation key. This provides a way to group agents together and bind them to your account. Go to Activation Keys and click the New Key button, then Generate Key. Learn more |

2) Our wizard will help you review requirements and download the agent installer to your local system. Want to do it later?Want to do it later? No problem, just exit the wizard. When you're ready return to your activation keys list, select the key you want to use, then Install Agent from the Quick Actions menu. |

3) Run the installer on each host from an elevated command prompt, or use a systems management tool or Windows group policy. |

Your agents should start connecting to our Cloud Platform. We would expect you to see your first asset discovery results in a few minutes. Click here to troubleshoot |

4) Activate your Cloud Agents for various capabilities like vulnerability scanning (VM), compliance scanning (PA/PC), etc. Your options will depend on your account settings. How to activate Cloud Agents? To enable Cloud Agents to collect asset data and remediate discovered vulnerabilities, you must activate it for various Qualys applications, such as Policy Audit, Patch Management, and so on. Check Agent Provisioning Rule (AIS Rule) Status When you create a agent host with the same attributes as that of an existing asset, it creates a duplicate asset records. You can avoid this by using the Agent Provisioning Rule (aka. Asset Identification Service (AIS)). To learn more about AIS rule status, refer to Agent Provisioning Rule Status.
