Cloud Agent Application Release 2.4

August 26, 2025

With this release of the Cloud Agent application, we are introducing the following new features and enhancements.

Activation Key Tab ― UI Enhancement

As part of our platform-wide UI modernization effort, the Activation Key tab has been migrated to the new interface framework. This transition aligns with the latest design standards across our platform and also shifts the Activation Key tab to a microservice-based architecture for improved scalability and maintainability.

Currently, the new Activation Key UI has limited availability. To avail this feature, contact your Technical Account Manager (TAM) or Qualys Support.

Along with the visual changes, we have also modified some of the UI elements to improve the user experience.

Old User Interface
New User Interface

The new activation key tab user interface brings you the following benefits:

  • Modern, Unified Design: The updated interface features standardized fonts, intuitive icons, streamlined menus, and a cohesive layout aligned with other products across the platform.
  • Improved Usability: Clear visual hierarchy, logical navigation, and context-aware actions make the interface easier to use—even for new users.
  • Better Performance: Built using modern web technologies, the new UI significantly improves load times and ensures smoother page transitions.
  • Advanced Filtering: Pre-defined quick filters enable one-click searches, saving time and effort when managing activation keys.
  • Customized Search: New search tokens allow for more granular and customized queries, giving you precise control over your data views.

Increased Configuration Profile Assignment Limit

Qualys Cloud Agent is updated to support assigning a configuration profile to more than fifty (50) Cloud Agents at a time while creating the configuration profile. Earlier, you could assign a configuration profile only to fifty cloud agents in one go.

This increased limit saves you time and helps in configuration profile assignment with minimal effort.

To learn more about assigning a configuration profile, refer to Directly Assign Profiles to Agent Hosts.

CPU Usage Limit for SwCA Module

With this release of the Cloud Agent application, we have updated the CPU usage limit for the SwCA Module. This enhancement ensures optimal performance for Cloud Agent and other Qualys modules.

New updated limits for SwCA:

Windows SwCA Profile - Range 10-99%. The default value 30%.

Linux SwCA Profile - Range 0-100%. The default value 30%.

Issues Addressed

The following important and notable issues are fixed in this release:

Component/Category Description
SwCA Configuration Profile We fixed an issue where trailing commas at the end of an excluded directory list removed the existing vulnerabilities from the detection list by adding clear and concise error messages on the SwCA Configuration Profile creation page.
License Limit Banner The license limit warning message was not being displayed on the new Configuration Profiles tab. We fixed this issue by adding the license limit warning banner on the new configuration profile banner.
SwCA Activation We fixed an issue where no warning message was displayed while saving the edited activation after enabling the SwCA. Now, we clearly display the warning message while adding the SwCA to an existing key to highlight the impact of SwCA activation.
AVC — Binary Download We fixed an issue where the users were getting the File not found (404) error when the Cloud Agent binary was not available for download from the Agent Version Control (AVC) tab by adding the proper error message on the AVC user interface.
Agent Scan Merge When configuring the Agent Scan Merge setting in the Configuration profile, users were getting an error message while specifying the IPv6 assets without CIDR. Now, we have added an intuitive real-time validation message on the user interface to assist them with the Agent Scan Merge configuration.
