Introduction to QFlex Subscription Model and Qualys Units (QLUs)
The Qualys platform uses Qualys Units (QLU), with QFlex as the subscription model for the platform capabilities. With the QFlex subscription model, you subscribe to a shared pool of QLUs that you can allocate and reallocate across Qualys products based on your requirements, without the need to purchase product-specific licenses.
This feature is not enabled in your subscription and is available on request. To enable the feature and enhance your subscription management experience, contact your Technical Account Manager.
Key Benefits
The QLU model supports evolving security and business requirements and offers the following benefits:
- Flexibility in use of Qualys application under a single commitment: QLU scales across Qualys applications without the overhead of managing separate licenses.
- Faster Onboarding and Expansion: You can enable new Qualys capabilities and expand usage without lengthy procurement cycles.
- Simplified Reallocation: You can reallocate units as per evolving requirements and changes in the organizational priorities.
- Improved Visibility and Control: Use a centralized interface to view, manage, and optimize QLU-based subscriptions.
- Insights into Usage: You can track unit usage and consumption across the organization.
QFlex Pricing
The QFlex pricing model enables you to scale Qualys services flexibly and adjust usage as your requirements change. QFlex pricing is designed around the following core principles:
QFlex consumption: You scale operations with a unified, unit-based model that enables seamless resource distribution across the Qualys ecosystem.
QFlex pricing: You purchase a centralized pool of Qualys Units (QLUs) at a single price point. You can dynamically allocate these units across eligible solutions to meet specific requirements.
Tiered pricing model: You purchase more QLUs across QFlex-eligible products to unlock higher discounts.
Under the QLU model, the platform calculates QLU consumption from the asset count using a predefined QLU-to-asset ratio. When you add or remove assets, QLU consumption reflects the change.
Platform Key Capabilities
The following are the key capabilities of the platform:
- Reallocate Assets: You can reallocate your QLU units and reassign QLUs from one product to another to improve your business efficiency.
- Purge Assets: Deactivate unused assets to prevent duplication and optimize unit utilization.
- Trial Products: Evaluate products through trials before committing a subscription.
- Consumption Tracking: Track QLU consumption on an ongoing basis to monitor available unit status.
- Plan Requirements: Plan QLU subscriptions in advance based on evolving business needs.
