Deploy Scanner Instances 

You can deploy the scanner instances using one of the following methods:

• Using UI (Cockpit Web Console)
• Using Command line virt-install 

To deploy scanner instances, ensure sizing prerequisites are met. See Scanner Appliance Sizing

Deployment Method Behavior

Scanner deployment behavior varies depending on the method used.

KVM UI Console

• Scanner instances are created using BIOS boot mode by default
• An option to select UEFI boot mode is not available

Command-Line (virt-install)

• UEFI boot mode can be explicitly specified using:

--boot uefi

--boot uefi
