Qualys Cloud Agent for Unix Release 6.0
September 05, 2025
With this release, we are introducing the following new features and enhancements for Cloud Agent for Unix.
Enhancements for Unix Cloud Agent
We have upgraded the Unix Cloud Agent to support the following features:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Troubleshooting | Use this feature to perform the troubleshooting actions on your Cloud Agents. The Cloud Agent for Unix has support for the following options to help you with troubleshooting:
|
| Change Activation Key | Use this feature to change the activation key assigned to a Cloud Agent directly from the user interface. Refer Change Activation Key to learn more. |
| Reduced Activity Period | With the reduced activity period, you can set a time duration during which Cloud Agent activities are temporarily restricted. This helps minimize disruptions and mitigate risks by preventing potential conflicts or errors that could arise from concurrent agent activities during sensitive periods. Refer Reduced Activity Period to learn more. |
| On Demand Scan | Use this feature to instantly launch a Cloud Agent scan, directly from the Cloud Agent user interface. Refer On Demand Scan to learn more. |
| Agent Scan Merge | The Agent Scan Merge option combines the authenticated and unauthenticated vulnerability scan results. This gives you a unified view of your vulnerabilities from both the authenticated and unauthenticated scans. Refer Agent Scan Merge to learn more. |
| Proxy Parity | The Cloud Agent proxy parity feature provides a fallback option in case of proxy failure. If this feature is enabled, Cloud Agent attempts a direct connection with the Enterprise TruRisk™ Platform in case of proxy connection failure. To enable this option, set ProxyParity=1 while configuring the proxy.
|
| Show Asset Details | The Unix Cloud Agent can now display the LPAR ID, MacI ID, Serial Number, Hardware UUID, and FQDN in the asset details section. |
Behavioral Change
There are no behavior changes in this release.

- AIX 7.1 TL1
- AIX 7.1 TL2
- AIX 7.1 TL3
- AIX 7.1 TL4
Issues Addressed
The following important and notable issues are fixed in this release.
| Category/Component | Description |
|---|---|
| Asset Details | We fixed an issue where the Lifecycle Information of the scanned assets was not displayed in the CSAM user interface. |
| Cloud Agent Vulnerability | We fixed an issue where vulnerability warnings were reported for the Cloud Agent by making the appropriate code changes. |
| False Positives | We fixed an issue where QID 330134 reported false positives due to incorrect data collected by Cloud Agent when multiple entries for the same software were present. Now, Cloud Agent collects the latest software data. |
Known Issues, Limitations, and Workarounds
There are the following known issues or limitations in this release.
- When upgraded manually, the Cloud Agent for Unix does not restart automatically. Therefore, restart your Unix Cloud Agents manually after upgrading them.
- If there are memory constraints for Cloud Agent, the agent binary download fails, or Cloud Agent stops working temporarily. To resolve this issue, make the following changes to the Cloud Agent configuration.
Edit the/etc/security/limitsfile and set the following values:- Set data segment size to unlimited -
data = -1 - Set stack size to unlimited -
stack = -1
This Limitation is applicable only when the Cloud Agent auto-upgrade is enabled or new Cloud Agent is being downloaded.
- Set data segment size to unlimited -
- Unix Cloud Agent generates logs for the SwCA Reduced Activity Period, which is not supported for the agent.
