What is NPS
Network Passive Sensor (NPS) is a passive monitoring solution that continuously observes network traffic to discover and profile assets without actively scanning them.
NPS listens to mirrored network traffic (via SPAN, TAP, or similar methods) and extracts attributes such as IP address, MAC address, hostname, domain, and other protocols as well as communication patterns. This information is then sent to the Qualys Enterprise TruRisk™ Platform, where it is correlated with existing asset data to provide a unified and continuously updated asset inventory.
Because NPS does not inject any packets into the network, it ensures zero impact on network performance, making it ideal for IT and OT environments.
Key Features of NPS
