Set Up ETM
Set up ETM to establish the organizational context and data connections required to provide a unified view of your organization’s security risk.
During setup, you define your organization's core identity, organizational structure, and security and asset data sources. ETM uses this information to associate assets and findings with the appropriate areas of the organization and to calculate relevant TruRisk Scores.
Before You Start
- If you are using ETM for the first time, read Your First ETM Experience and Access ETM for information about accessing and navigating the application.
- If terms such as asset, finding, or TruRisk are unfamiliar, read Core ETM Concepts.
- For prerequisites and account requirements, see Before You Begin.
Complete the setup activities in the recommended order because information established during each activity is used by subsequent setup and risk-analysis processes.
Setup Path
Complete the following activities to set up ETM:
1. Set Up Company Profile
Define your organization's core identity, business attributes, and company risk appetite. ETM uses this information to provide organizational context for risk analysis and reporting.
For more information, refer to Set Up Company Profile.
2. Define Business Entities
Organize the environment into business entities such as departments, subsidiaries, and regions. This structure enables ETM to associate assets and findings with the appropriate areas of the organization.
For more information, refer to Define Business Entity
3. Configure Connectors
Connect ETM to security and infrastructure data sources, including cloud providers, vulnerability scanners, and supported compliance tools.
ETM ingests and normalizes data from connected sources to provide a unified view of assets, findings, and associated risk.
For more information, refer to Configure Connector
After Setup
After the initial setup is complete and data sources are connected, ETM begins processing the available data and calculating the TruRisk Score across assets in your environment.
- On the Home page, use the TruRisk Summary to review an overview of organizational risk.
- Open Risk Management > Risk Workbench to investigate risk and identify areas requiring attention.
